Thanks for your recent column. I appreciated that you spoke of teachers who made you feel smart. I can’t say That I had any that told me I was smart but I had some that made me feel they believed in me. That made a big difference in my life.
As a recently retired teacher, I want to believe if nothing else, I let students know I was their advocate, their friend,and a role model. I taught first grade for many years. Most adults don’t remember much about their first grade teacher. It was nice to hear that you remembered some of those primary teachers. Beckie Baker, Redding, CA
